I have always been inspired by simplicity and how beautiful and sophisticated a design is with clean lines and simple use of colour.

 

A thorough study of embroidery processes has led me to integrate the traditional textile techniques of hand embroidery and stitching with tailored effects like embellishment. My handmade designs place a strong emphasis on the realm of fantasy, exploring the relationship between art and craft, connecting the cloth and the wearer. I endeavoured to create simple yet innovative pieces that stemmed from original ideas influenced by modern design and neutral colour combinations that are drawn from nature. I have explored new and old techniques and the results can vary from ornate to minimal, from handcrafted to manufactured.

 

Incorporating various elements within my work, I combine modernity and originality with the rustic to create work which is about the importance of sharing our stories and cherishing our surroundings.
